Development Success Stories...

The following are a selection of some of our clients (both large and small) and a brief description of the work we have undertaken over the past seven years on their behalf - for both PC and Mac based users.

Dr. Forbes Surgery
Electronic-Type developed an in house database tracking system for Dr. Forbes paperless office. We devised a solution, in conjunction with DocKeep & Fujitsu using the ADF fi-6130 scanner that is able to scan multiple pages (approx. 50 pages per minute) of any (letter/legal/card size) paperwork into the patients file for instant retrieval by any doctor on the networked system. This solution provides a complete 'one stop' patient history (archiving) and patient overview.
Developed 2009 - present

Practice Solutions - A CMA (Canadian Medical Association) Company

The system reports on all aspects of income and non-income work by a variety of criteria, allowing staff to track their own work flow and a/c managers to track entire projects and costs for which they are responsible. For added security, we used the plug in SecureFM (developed by New Millennium Communications).

Honda Canada
Electronic-Type in conjunction with InvisibleBridges (of Toronto) developed a web hosted Employee Awards database tracking system able to calculate, evaluate and display Honda employee points awards based upon their length of service, job, successfully completed internal training course (among other criteria). Employees are awarded points depending on their results and are able to redeem, online, various rewards, which range from rings, mugs, rally jackets, barbecues, Sony stereo systems, Olympus cameras etc.

Fully secure, the system is able to import new data monthly and calculate new points awards and integrate and update the employees award position. Various management reports are available as are year end reports for T4 inclusion.
Went online June 2003 - 2004. [PC].

IMI Norgren
Manufacturers of pneumatic and hydraulic products and control systems IMI Norgren required a database to enable their sales staff to create on screen quotes, based upon the individual parts that make up any one or series of components the company sells. The system allows the user to 'build' the product and track the costs associated with the product. On completion the product cost is transferred to a quote (or invoice) which may be emailed directly to the client. An automated parts update processing system is incorporated.
In addition a CD was developed using a FileMaker Pro runtime engine for staff in the field to quote in much the same way that their office brethren.
Developed 2001 and requiring bi-yearly cd runtime and server hosted updates

Mazda Canada

Electronic-Type developed a database for Mazda Canada, able to track all Mazda vehicles sold in this country. The system tracks Customer purchases of new vehicles which are tracked by VIN. Every time a new Mazda vehicle is bought, or, a previously owned Mazda is bought, through a Mazda dealership, the sale is tracked and entered into a monthly customer file which at month end is imported into the database. Additionally, responses from customer survey reports are also collected on a monthly basis and the data imported into the database.
